Any good practice to manage expanding database?

We are using DB2.
Our CCM database is getting bigger.
Is there any good practice to manage expanding database?

If it is ok to delete old data e.g. project areas, source files etc, please let me know how to delete them.
Or is there any other good practice?

With RTC-4.0, you will be able to delete file versions, so that can clean up significant amounts of space if you have checked in large binaries.
You can also delete work items, but they don't use up much space, so that is more for security reasons than for space savings.
You cannot currently delete entire project areas.

Cheers,
Geoff
