Moving Data to a new RQM server

Is it possible to move an entire project's data from one RQM server to another RQM server?

We are currently using RQM for test execution. We have test plans, test cases, test scripts, TERS, and execution results. We have custom test plan and test case templates and have customized our categories. Other than that, our data is fairly standard.

We are interested in moving from one server to a completely different one to get more customized function and be able to share RQM and RTC data with other teams. Both servers are the same version.

Is it possible to "pick up" the project data and move it somewhere else? What would be involved?

Thanks, Karen Smolar

You can copy RQM resources using the RQM Copy Utility.

Yes we are looking at moving our RQM project to a brand new server. In order to do this we will be using the RQM Copy Utility.

Also we will extract the process template from the existing project and when creating the new RQM project on the new server we will use that extract. The process template contains all the custom attributes, roles, pre conditions etc

Might I suggest copying the repository and then server rename (https://jazz.net/library/article/1148) rather than using the RQM Copy Utility.

Hi Karen,
Is it possible to move an entire project's data from one RQM server to another RQM server?

Unfortunately, no.

This limitation is inherited from Jazz Foundation and applies to all of the Jazz-based applications (RQM, RTC, RRC).

Reference the following Plan Item, which is tracking this for possible implementation in a future release: 93151 Support moving projects between Jazz repositories. As explained in comment 27, this is not in plan for CLM 4.x but is under consideration for CLM 5.x (very tentative release date: middle of 2013).

Cheers,
Patrick

 Annna,
If you are currently running version 4.x of the CLM tools, the Server Rename functionality may be something you can look into.

Here is a link to article that will give you a good overview of the functionality
