Work Item view apparent refresh issue, does not see updates.

Jerry Williams (111) | asked Jan 16 '12, 4:46 p.m.
As a reviewer of a work item, I do a code review with the developer, from the work item view of the eisiting change sets and contents.

Issues are found, and an update to the work item file(s) is made and checked in, on the same change set.

The work item change set is checked in but not deliverd, as is the update to the change set for the work item.

The refresh action on the work item does not see the newly checked file(s), ( it dont seem aware of the change set update ).

The client must be complete exited and reloaded, login ... then the WI shows the updates to the WI's change set(s).

Closing and re-opening the WI is not sufficient action to see the updates to the change set.

Any advice on how to get the update with out the client cycle.

Click the refresh button on the Change Explorer view. That refreshes
the view of the change set itself, as opposed to refreshing the view of
the work item. The change set is associated with the work item but is
not part of the work item, so it is refreshed separately.

(You are not alone. It took me a little while to figure that out myself.)
