Inconsistent query results for multi select attributes
We have three multi-select attributes defined in our process template - Defect Type, Found in SDLC, and Review Group. It is possible to do a full text query using the literal ID for Defect Type and get the correct results. The query results display the literal ID for Defect Type attribute. But for the Found in SDLC or Review Group attributes the actual value (e.g. "System Testing") must be used in the full text query (using the literal ID returns 0 records). When doing a full text query using the actual value in the Found in SDLC or Review Group attributes (e.g. Found in SDLC = "System Testing") the results display any work item that has that value in the Description, Summary, etc. attributes as well as the Found in SDLC attribute. Has anyone run into the situation where some multi-select attributes require an actual value in the full text query condition (and not the literal ID) while other attributes in the same template require the literal ID? In the process configuration all three attributes are defined the same way in the types and attributes and editor presentations. We are using RTC 3.0.1.

Hej Alan,
The best way to make this solution right now is using a birt Report. You can look up the actual value of the Enumerator of your fileds and link them on the literal ID. It should be fairly simple. You can then make a drop down parameter for each of the fields so that users may search for whatever has available result. Proper display of the multi select fields to display the actual value instead of the key in queries are currently being developed and hopefully will be available in the next version of RTC.
I need the ability to do bulk duplication of work items. The need is to create bulk copies for a software patch release. There are around 250 defects assigned to fix pack 5009 that have to be duplicated for patch 5103. has anyone found a way to do this?
Hi Alan,
Depending on what your specific need is there is a number of options to selve your problem.
1) continue in same project area but in a new sprint/release and move your work items here. this can be done by creating a query where you display the planned for field - mark all you workitems and right click the column of the planned for field and change the value for all workitems at once.
2) continue in a new project area - create a query to display your defects mark them all and select move/copy to another project area. If its not available in your client (grayed out) the spcific plguin can be downloaded and installed in your RTC.
3) use the continue work in option by right clicking the work items in a plan.
