RAF and Build Forge

Hi,
With the new standalone RAF, under what circumstances do we still require buildforge (license)? It seems RAF has the buildforge functionality embedded. Please advise. Thanks. |

![]() Hi, Greetings! As of RAF 3.0 you don't need a separate BF license, as long as you are using the BF technology only to support RAF automation. Steve Heyman RAFW |

Steve Heyman RAFW Another way of saying this would be that you need a Build Forge license if you are using the embedded Build Forge for anything other than the installation/patching/fixing of middleware, configuration of middleware, operation (start/stop/etc.) of middleware, and the deployment of application/application artifacts. |

So if I was in the middle of a deployment, and as part of the deployment needed to update oracle tables - would the steps/project to update the tables within the oracle instance be considered part of RAF or Buid Forge?

From a licensing perspective, that would be considered a RAF activity (part of the deployment of the application and application artifacts). Examples of things that you would not be allowed to do with just a RAF license would be things liked automated build, automated release, automated testing, etc. |
