Some of our developers are unable to view the RTC History of files.

When we click Show History an error message is thrown stating An error occurred while updating this part. The parts contents may be out of date and need to be refreshed

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks
Jirong

Hi Jirong,

We are the team that Arne mentioned in his post above.
Thanks Arne for posting that for us.

In addition we reported this issue to the RTC team.
You can follow it's progress here:

Hi,

can you try another workspace on those machines? If the problem persists with a new workspace, I would assume there is some incompatible plug in installed.

Jirong,

this was a long time ago but I just stumbled upon a team who had this same error appear.
In their case the root cause was a file which had been moved from another component. Apparently some users did not have access to the old component so when the history view tried to show that part of history, it threw the exception.

Might this have been at the core of what you saw?

Best,
Arne
