Impacts of changes in a lifecycle workflow

If I change a lifecycle workflow, what is the impact on assets that are already following this lifecycle?
For example if I remove a state from a lifecycle what happens to the assets that are on the removed state?
Thanks
Paulo

RAM is able to handle this type of change. If assets are in that workflow, but not in the state you remove there is no impact. If any assets are present in the state you remove, they will remain in that state until they are modified at which point they will return to the start of the lifecycle.
