Repository-Wide Asset Producer Role or Group?

Dan Duce (2534745) | asked Nov 09 '11, 9:04 a.m.
I've been experimenting, trying to figure out how to give a user the right to be an Asset Producer in all communities, without having to go to each community to grant the right. I'm not having much luck.

I don't want the default right for logged in users to be Producer. I have a select group of people that I want to be able to be producers in every community, but I don't want them to have administrator rights.

I have over 30 communities, so granting this at the community level would be very arduous to maintain.

I haven't figured out a way to do this. Is there a way?

In RAM, user roles can only be defined at the community level. There are

no roles that can be assigned across a repository (except for Repository
Administrators which are not roles).

Somewhat related, in RAM 7.5.1, RAM provides Master lifecycles now which
basically provide repository wide settings for lifecycles. What this
means is if you specify a user to be a reviewer/approver with update
capability for specific states of a lifecycle, that will be inherited at
the community and subsequently at the asset level as well. Although this
doesn't provide the full capability you are looking for it does provide
some repository wide function that is similar.
