Error installing RTC 3.0.1.1 Server

I'm trying to install the RTC 3.0.1.1 Server. I downloaded RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1.zip, expanded it, ran launchpad.exe, and selected Jazz Team Server with Required Base Keys, including Trials, and CCM, CQ and RM Applications link under the Install the Jazz Team Server and Applications section. The IBM Installation Manager comes up and gives the following errors:
The com.ibm.team.install.calm package specified in the C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Downloads\RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1\im\win32.win32.x86\install-server.xml file cannot be found.
The com.ibm.team.install.jfs.app.product-rtc-standalone package specified in the C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Downloads\RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1\im\win32.win32.x86\install-server.xml file cannot be found.

After clicking on the OK button to dismiss the error dialog, the only thing I can do is press the Cancel button to abort the install.

Is this a known problem? How do I work around it?

Did you actually check that the file
C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Downloads\RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1\im\win32.win32.x86\install-server.xml
exists ?

Don't you have a repository.xml file to point too ?

Yes, the C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Downloads\RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1\im\win32.win32.x86\install-server.xml file exists and I'm able to open it in my favorite editor. BTW, I simply downloaded RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1.zip from jazz.net and expanded it. I would assume that all of the necessary files to do the install would be present in RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1.zip.

Hi Geoff

Some things to watch out for....

Use an unzip application like 7zip - and expand it on a shorter directory path. I suspect this is when you get this error.

You may also need admin rights on the machine to run the install, or you need to work on a directory that you have full R/W access to.

Once unzipped - the installer grabs the installation files from here in jazz.net - so make sure you have a working internet connection.

Let us know if this does not solve the problem (or if you fixed it another way)

anthony

Anthony, thanks for your help. I was using 7-Zip to expand RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1.zip into C:\Users\IBM_ADMIN\Downloads\RTC-Web-Installer-Win-3.0.1.1 (the default directory generated by 7-Zip). Based on your response, I tried expanding instead into shorter path, namely C:\a. This resolved the problem with the missing files. Thanks again for your help.

Even extracting into c:\rtc3.0.1.1 was too long a directory name. c:\a did work. Also, you know it works when launchpad prompts you for login name and password for jazz.net. If you're not prompted, then the path name is too long.
