Store Cognos Assets in RTC

Hi

We have Cognos 10 as the reporting solution in this shop. e.g. most of new applications are Java based Curam applications, and each of these application will have a Cognos reporting project.

There is no direct integration between Cognos 10 and RTC 3.0.1, so they just want to simply store the Framework Manager files (.xml and .cfp), Reports and DB schema files in RTC.

I am thinking about create three components for the above files, and in a totally separated project area than the Java applications. So one project area for all applications and one project area for all Cognos projects.

Has anyone done the similar?

If these files have relationships to each other, then you might want
them in the same component so that they are baselined together.

Unless the process configuration you want to use for managing the Cognos
files is different from the process configuration you want to use for
other applications, there's probably no reason to create a separate
project area (i.e. a separate team area in the existing project area is
probably fine).

But either way is OK.

Cheers,
Geoff
