Editing / Creating lifecycle queries

Is there a way to edit the predefined lifecycle queries, or to create new lifecycle queries?

When clicking the 'edit' icon on a predefined query in CCM web, an empty query creation screen is displayed, instead of the query I'm trying to edit.

tried it once but didn't succed. the only way is to edit Process Configuration file. It is not that easy though.
