I'm totally confused!!

When doing a search on status and only selecting the status of Defect workitem shouldn't it only show me defects of the status I selected?

The status condition for queries lists all the workitems that are defined in Types & Attributes section. I only have Defect selected and New but when I run the query it shows me defects and tasks.

Please someone set me straight.

If you want to select Defects only, you need to use the Type attribute, not the Status attribute.

I've figured that out but honestly if I'm selecting a status of a defect then it should only show me the status of what I selected. Whats the point of listing all the statuses for the workflows if it just uses the status and not the workitem type?
