Question about high availability environment
![]()
Hi,
We are planning to create high availability environment. I'm referring to following links. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/c_ha.html http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/t_setting_up_ha.html http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/t_ha_manual_failover.html http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/t_ha_manual_recovery.html I have following questions. 1, Reading the documents, I understand like following. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "Idle standby" means that plugin-cfg.xml needs to be modified manually to switch the server. There is no way to switch the server automatically when the primary server fails. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Is my understanding correct? 2, If above my understanding is correct, is there a way to notify the failure of the primary server automatically?(by sending email etc..) If there is, please let me know how to set it up. |

Hi Carlos,
Thank you very much for you answer. Do you have any suggestion about my question 2 below? ------------------------------------------------------------ is there a way to notify the failure of the primary server automatically?(by sending email etc..) If there is, please let me know how to set it up. ------------------------------------------------------------ |
![]() Hi Carlos, Hi James re: automatic notification, there is nothing in RTC to do this directly. Many companies do have monitoring software running against their app server and database, and these tools can notify administrators, etc if a server goes down. anthony |
