Hide unused Test Case categories programatically

Kyle Zhu (4144) | asked Aug 23 '11, 2:46 a.m.
When we create the Test Cases and then go into the Test Plan > Test Cases view (or simply View Test Cases) it shows all the Categories associated w/ the Test Case in the view. Because we defined some custom categories, too many categories make the UI a bit unreadable.

The user does have the power to add/remove Categories from view as well as word wrap the text.

I'd like to know can we do this programmatically?

Hi Kyle,
Do you mean hiding/showing column for the categories in view. No it is not. Could you provide any scenario where you will need to do it pragmatically?

Hi Pramod, We created an application, in which lots of test cases, test plans and categories(nearly 20+) are created using RQM APIs. Also we store the test plan links for user to click later.

Well, as there are too many categories, when user click the test plan and go to test case view, the length of category is too small to clearly read the content inside. So we want to programmatically hide some categories or set word wrap for them to give user a better first impression.
