License of WAS and DB2 for RRDI
I'm now trying to install RRDI.
Before installing it, I have to install WAS and DB2.
So I have a question about the license of WAS and DB2.
I found following post.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
RQM and RRC also include an entitlement to use DB2/WAS for RQM and RRC,
respectively. So you can use DB2/WAS for any of the CLM applications
you have purchased.
Cheers,
Geoff

Is it same for RRDI?
Or do we have to purchase additional license of WAS and DB2 in order to use RRDI?

RQM, or RRC (just as DB2 and WAS are optional programs that you are
entitled to use with RTC, RQM, or RRC).
So technically, the entitlement to use DB2/WAS with RRDI comes from the
RTC, RQM, or RRC licenses (that entitled you to use RRDI), not directly
from RRDI.

Geoff

Is it technically possible to use those bundled DB2 and WAS for different purpose from using purchased CLM tool?
In my understanding, it is technically possible as those DB2 and WAS do not require a license key to activate, but we cannot use them for another purpose due to license agreement.
Is my understanding correct?
The licenses for DB2 and WAS are restricted use licenses in that they are for use with CLM products only -- unless of course you have other IBM products that include similar restricted use licenses; they could use the same DB2 and WAS servers.
Any other use, while "technically possible," would violate the terms of your RTC / RQM / RRC licenses.

Thank you for your answer.
Let me please ask one more question.
Now, we are using RTC, and we are planning to purchase RQM and RRC.
So we don't need to install additional WAS and DB2 licenses when we start to use RQM and RRC.
Is my understanding correct?

Yes, that's correct.
Thank you very much for your answer :)

I let product management and sales answer the license entitlement
question, but I want to point out that RRDI ships and installs its own
WAS server (if you choose to in the installer). Hence, it am pretty
certain that this license is included. You can install into an already
existing WAS server, but if you do not have entitlement then the
included one is the way to go.

Let me ask one more question about below.

If you have purchased RTC, you should find copies of DB2 and WAS (for use with RTC only) along with RTC on your IBM Passport Advantage site. These do not require a license key to activate.
