Migrate Jazz Applications for different machines

Deise CĂ´rtes (511210) | asked Jul 22 '11, 4:47 p.m.
Hi All,

I am in the following situation: The customer wants to migrate the RRC from version 2.0.0.4 for version 3.0.1, and according URL "Migration upgrade limitations" (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0m1/index.jsp?
topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/c_rrc_limitations.html) it is not possible to change the host name of the server.

Today, both Jazz server and RM application are in the same machine/WAS.
The customer now wants to upgrade RRC for 3.0.0.1, and let the RM application on the same machine/WAS it is today, but, put JTS server in another machine/WAS. Is that possible? To do that, is it mandatory the use of a proxy server?

Regards,
Deise.

Deise,

During migration you need to preserve the URIs for your Jazz applications (see https://jazz.net/library/article/686).

Now the context roots of the applications need to remain the same, so the RRC application will need to remain on the same server. The new JTS application can be on any machine, but choose a location wisely, knowing that you may want to move it at a later time.
