Add a new component in RTC

mehul Prajapati (18125554) | asked Jun 22 '11, 10:47 a.m.
Hello,

I created a workspace off the project which had only one component than i added a new component by right click on workspace-->New component. I do not see the options to checkin this new component. How can this new component be visible to another user in his workspace.

Thanks

When you created a new component in your workspace, it was created on
the server, so there is no need to check anything in. To make it
visible to another user, commonly, you would deliver that component
addition to a stream, and the other user would accept that component
addition from that stream. Alternatively, the user can accept the
component addition directly from your workspace by making your workspace
one of the flow targets of their workspace, or by explicitly adding a
baseline of that component to their workspace.

Cheers,
Geoff

As a side note -- when you add a component in this way, it will be owned by you.
You will likely want to change the ownership of the component to the Project Area the stream is under (or one of it's Team Areas).  This will also then list the component in the components folder under Source Control in the Team Artifacts view.
