Linking DM and RTC - How?

I'm unable to link DM with RTC. I've done the following.

Installed DM (https://amrrdmserver:29443/jts/) and RTC (https://amrrtcserver:9443/jts/) as separate JTS servers with unique ports.

In DM, made RTC a friend (outbound)
In RTC, made DM a consumer (inbound)

With the DM sample project tried to link to an RTC project (using Associations on Overview tab). On doing this I get the following error:

Failed to read matching artifact container catalog resource:

Unable to load URL: /jts/proxy?uri=https://amrrtcserver:9444/jazz/oslc/workitems/catalog&dojo.preventCache=1307474944648, Status: 500

What am I doing wrong?

thanks,
steve

Please ensure your time settings are identical on both servers, then try again.

Both servers are running in the same vmware image. is this an issue then?

Stephen, you also have to make an outbound friend connection from RTC to DM in the RTC ccm/admin page.

Hi Alan,

I've tried to make DM a friend to RTC. However, I get the following error at the RTC end:

An error occurred while requesting the root services document from server "https://amrrdmserver:29443/dm/scr". Please check the URL and try again.ID CRJAZ1575E

The https://amrrdmserver:29443/dm/scr URL works fine. Do you know what this error is?

thanks,

Can you confirm you are creating the friend connection from the ccm/admin context and not the jts/admin context? I know this is confusing. I.e. when you are creating the friend link to DM, the URL you are using should look like:

https://<server>/ccm/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.friends

Steve,

What are you using for the root services URI for DM? It should be something like:

https://amrrdmserver:29443/dm/rootservices

The URI likely needs to be fully qualified with hostname.

Which version of RTC are you using?

It seems odd in your initial posting that it's reporting port 9444 in the error message. Did you change any of the ports to this?

Hi,

what is the conclusion here? I basically see the same thing using DM 3.0.0.1 (using a 3011 jts) and CLM 3.0.1.1 on a vm image of Win7 32bit.

The ports are obviously different as there are 2 tomcats running on the same machine, thus different ports.

Can you confirm the following:

1. Both the DM server and CLM server are running on separate ports.
2. You can access both the DM and RTC projects.
3. On the DM server, there should be a friend (outbound) link to your RTC server: My RTC Server https://<server>/ccm/rootservices
4. On the CLM server, there should be a friend (outbound) link to your DM server: My DM Server https://<server>/dm/rootservices
(needed if you want back linking)

I assume aha03506 has a similar sort of problem.

In all of the above cases, please try copying and pasting the part after the uri= directly into the browser.

Then, please reply back with the error message.
