Integrating CLM - RRC with ClearQuest

David Doughty (1812219) | asked May 10 '11, 5:50 a.m.
I've had the integration enabled on RRC2 using the "Implmented By" link, which demonstrated connectivity (about all it does), but am expecting great things of the new product. And want to investigate/pilot tje use CQ for pipeline / change management, and leave RTC for execution management.

CLM Documentation has reference details for integrating RTC, RQM with ClearQuest, but nothing for RRC and ClearQuest.

Is this something that is in the pipeline? and therefore not in the "work in progress" version of the CLM documentation.

Does anyone else have a reference that describes the integration (and setup) between RRC3.0.1 and CQ7.1.2.2

many thanks

I have not seen any official documentation specific to this topic, so let me share my perspective here.

As part of the RRC V3 release we are testing integration scenarios with ClearQuest. This makes use of the OSLC Links package in CQ. As I see it, this supports the following primary use cases:

1. Requirements guide development work. RRC user creates implemented by link to CQ record or CQ user creates implements link to RRC requirement.
2. Enhancement record is satisfied by one or more requirements
3. Defect on one or more requirements
4. Requirement change control process managed by CM system
5. Requirements workflow / taskflow managed by CM system

Note that for (4) and (5) the review and approval process can be driven natively in RRC or manually applied using CQ to guide workflow and record electronic signatures. Whereas requirements changes in DOORS 9.3 can be controlled through change requests managed in ClearQuest, with RRC the process is not yet as automated. CQ records do not drive behavior in RRC (nor does the change management system in RTC, for that matter).

Daniel:

Is RRC 3.0 a upgrade to Doors? , to RRC 2.0? to reqpro ? or a full rewrite? can you please provide a link that sheds more light on its evolution?

Cool, in the mean time what I'm looking for is some "how to" advice on integrating RRC3 and CQ, or maybe I should be looking at Doors rather than RRC, but as corporate feeling is towards jazz that might not float.....

Anyway, after some further hacking I managed to get my cq UAT environment as both a friend and consumer with my /RM server, and created associations with a project.

THis appears to provide 2 options, for change mangement in BETA3 M14a (I cant deploy RRC3 RC2 until I get more database space and DNS setup).

1) Implmentation - which is the original link implemented by, and apart from the apalling rendering of CQ records in the interface, appears to work.

2) Requirements - which doesnt appear to do anything, there is no OSLCrequirement type in the project

These maybe because the features dont appear in Beta3. Anyway, will await RC2 installation and setup to pilot this integration further.
