I only have installed JTS on windows
Now I want to use AIX as server,
so I will install jts in aix
how can I do the task?
can anyone tell me the different between installing on windows and AIX?
1 do they use the same install file?
2 do I install the install manager in AIX first?
3 is there some document to instruct the installation process in AIX?
thanks~~~

Hi,

this depends a bit.

Here some experiences.

If you have x-windows on the AIX box you can use an X-Terminal (or a PC with Xming or another x-emulator). Firefox and the installer should work fine with X-windows.

If you don't have X on the box you can do a batch/silent install. See the different products (RTC, DB2, WAS). For RTC the install files are in a specific package having the OS in the path name.

You can unpack your install files on a windows box and transfer them over. Otherwise you need to unzip on the AIX box. Most of the unzip tools on *X machines can't deal with multiple files being zipped. Use

# jar xvf rtc.zip

to unzip instead (needs Java installed).

If you have AIX boxes, I'd assume you have AIX experts that can help you with some other details.
