Add tags to multiple Work Items

The "Edit Mulitple Work Items" functionality does not allow to apply tags to selected Work Items.In the Eclipse client, you can select multiple work items in the Work Items view. If you turn on the tags column, you can right-click on it and change tags for all the selected work items.
Is there a way to apply tags to multiple Work Items in one step?
