Connection to RAM Repository

George Avenell (211) | asked Apr 06 '11, 3:36 a.m.
I wish to make a connection to a RAM repository from my RAM eclipse client. The RAM server software runs on version level 7.1.1. However, my RAM eclipse client is running version 7.2.

In order to connect to the RAM repository, is it mandatory that the RAM Server and Client software should run at the same version level ?
Please advise. Regards, George

Hi,

Clients can support servers that are one protocol level back. These
don't necessarily correlate directly to versions. But 7.2 client should
support a 7.1.1.1 server. The client will tell you when the server is
too downlevel to support. I'm not sure if it will support a 7.1.1 since
that is very downlevel.

But, if you are at 7.1.1, you really should upgrade to at least 7.1.1.1.
There have been many fixes between 7.1.1 and 7.1.1.1.

Note you can download the client api from the ram server you are using, or use it as an update site to upgrade your Eclipse client.

The client api, support server n, and n-1.
