RRC 3.0 - Ability to Check-out and Check-in Artifacts

Derek Chu (2153) | asked Apr 01 '11, 3:18 p.m.
Hi,

One of the requirements that we have for a requirements management tool is the ability to check-in and check-out artifacts. I'm assuming that if one user is editing an artifact, that the artifact won't be editable by another user at the same time, can someone please confirm that. Is there any plans to add-in the check-in and check-out feature? Thanks.

Cheers,
Derek

This is how the RRC help describes multi-user editing

I would also suggest raising a work item describing the business problem you are solving by using check-in and check-out of requirements, so that we better understand the needs.

As RRC saves every version of an artifact, and it is possible to view and restore a previous version, as well as create a copy, and see the complete artifact history change in a report, the existing capabilities might provide much of your needs but the work item will help us better understand.
