How to subcategory test cases in RQM ?

Hi,

I am able to create new categories and categorise my test cases but I also need to create subcategories and view test cases in tree format hierarchically.

Could please me explain me if there is a way to do that ?

Thanks already now.

Hello,

unfortunately there's no way of creating sub categories of categories.

You can tree view starting with test plans. From the test plans you can drill into the test cases. But the tree view ignores any categories.

Hi Joerg,

Thanks for your reply.

I have produced a workaround by adding new test plans and distrubuting the existing test cases into them.

But I have a new problem now. Although I have migrated my existing test cases to other test plans the executions record are sttil in the old test plans. Furthermore it is not possible to change the test plan of a execution record manually.

I am afaraid that I am going to need to run those lots of test scripts again.

Do you have any idea for this problem ?

In terms of subcategories. This feature is being implemented in RQM 3.0, see this plan item:

In terms of changing the Test Plan of existing test execution records. That's currently not possible. There's an enhancement request for it, but it's currently not in plan. See work item:

Thank you Kurtis. I hope RQM 3.0 will be released soon.
