Migrating 1.0.0.2 to 1.0.1

I have been reading the documentation on doing this and am finding it a
little confusing. In upgrading it says to delete the data warehouse but
in another place it says get the upgrade package which I only see the
full install package.

Under the migration section is says nothing about restoring the data
warehouse which suggests you don't delete it. There is a section about
the migration project from the config section which creates the schema
changes to apply so I assume this is to the original database?

My assumption is:

1) backup config files and database
2) uninstall 1.0.0.2 (leave database intact)
3) Install 1.0.1
4) create migration project and apply changes
5) merge any config file changes

Is this correct - btw I am using this with RQM - is there anything else
I am missing?

Hi David,

Your steps look correct. I would add that:
1. if you have an existing data warehouse you should not select to install the data warehouse when installing Rational Insight 1.0.1. Instead you should migrate the data warehouse (your step 4) and then make any config changes required to point Insight to your existing data warehouse.
2. backup any custom reports that you have deployed to Insight. You can export your reports from the Insight Web interface.
3. I would expand your step 5 to include restoring any other changes that you have backed up such as reports, FM projects, or ETL catalog.
