Native Client Driver vs SQL Server Driver, ODBC settings
As part of the Microsoft SQL Server client and JDBC driver installation
instructions in the Build Forge infocenter (link below), the document
indicates that one should install SQL Native Client.
] 1. Install SQL Native Client. Version 2005.90.4035.00 is required. It is
] included in Service Pack 3 for Microsoft SQL Server.
However, in the next step of the document (ODBC Data Source Setup for
Microsoft SQL Server) where the actual ODBC Data Source is created, it
indicates that one should use the MS SQL Server driver as opposed to
the SQL Native Client.
] 3. Select MS SQL Server from the list of drivers, then click Finish. In
] the ODBC Setup dialog box that appears ...
Is this an error in the document, or is the MS SQL Server driver required
for BF to function correctly? If so, what was the point in installing the
Native Client?
