Why is access group management so slow in Build Forge release 7.1.x?

Why is access group management so slow in Build Forge release 7.1.x?  It takes a long time to load up an Access Group, a long time to add/remove members and a long time to remove an access group.  Is there some indexing of the database that can be done?
