"Unknown share" error adding project to jazz sourc

Roderick Thomas (661179) | asked Dec 07 '10, 11:25 p.m.
Attempting to share a simple project with jazz source control. The project was imported into eclipse from "c:\" using the import -> "Existing projects into workspace".

Once imported, I right clicked on the project and chose Team->Share Project.

I complete all the pages into the wizard, leading up to the "Share Project in Jazz" page. Then I verified the project I wanted to import is still selected- it was.

Clicking "next", I'm presented with the Review Ignored Resources page in the wizard. I check the "show all resources" checkbox. When I expand the contents of the project to identify the Matching Resources to ignore, I get a dialog with the title "Problem Occurred" and a message, which reads: "An error has occurred. See error log for more details. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException". When I click on Details, I see another error: "An error has occurred. See error log for more details. Unknown share C:/".

There are no further details in the error log.

When I select elements from the Matching Resources list and click Ignore, I get the "Add to Ignore List" dialog with the list of selected resources listed in the "Ignored Resources" section, highlighted in red. Each entry has a message stating "not matched". It's as if it can't resolve the location of the files on the file system.

Any help on why this is failing? This was supposed to be a simple test of getting a project from disk to jazz.

I've never encountered this problem ... you'll probably need to work
with Rational support on this. This is (as you can imagine) a very
frequently used operation, so there must be something rather unusual
going on with your configuration/installation.

Cheers,
Geoff

Thanks Geoff.

Went back and tried again, this time checking the "Copy projects into workspace" and everything worked as expected.
