"Named Pipe" connection issue with RAFW 7.1.2??

Hello,

I used the env gen wizard to create a project to build out a WAS 7.0 env. This is with RAFW 7.1.2.

When I run the project, the steps for installing WAS complete fine.
However, I am running into issues with the calls for starting the dmgr, creating the cluser, and generating the virtual hosts.

The project will fail at the "starting the dmgr" step. If I do nothing but restart the failed project, it will get by this step only to fail at the "Create Cluster" step. If I restart the failed project, it will now be able to do this step but fail at the "generating virtual hosts" step.
the only error message is "java.net.ConnectException: CTGRI0080E Unable to connect to the remote named pipes."

I seem to get over the failed step by just restarting the job, but it only gets to the next step where it fails for seemingly the same reason.

Below is the failure output for the was_common_configure_generate_virtual_hosts call.
Any ideas what causes this "named pipes" issue?
This is on windows XP SP2

Andy,

Not sure if you are still having this issue, but it looks like there are similar issues online around some changes since WinXP Sp2

This is another link that has some additional settings to be performed for RXA to work. This might be helpful too.
