RTC and Rational Application Developer/Software Architect

Dave Westerman (331110) | asked Nov 19 '10, 1:50 p.m.
I have installed Rational Software Architect 8.0, and am trying to install Rational Team Concert into it. It doesn't look like RTC 2.0 will work with RSA 8.0 (I'm assuming because of the release of Eclipse that RSA 8.0 uses, which is 3.6).

1. Will RTC 3.0 work with RSA 8.0?

2. Can an RTC 3.0 client work with an RTC 2.0 server?

Hi Dave

You can use RTC 2.x inside RSA 8.0 (I have this set up on my machine at the moment). You need to do the install slightly differently (not using Installation Manager.

http://jazz.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12113 discusses how to do this.

RTC 3 will install directly into RSA 8 via the Installation Manager.

RTC client and server must match - so if you want to use RTC 3 - you must have a 3.0 server.
