RQM : Unable to connect with a shared location
Hi
I am using RQM hosted on a central server located in Raleigh. Using system properties I added a shared location \\machinename\sharedFoldername to RQM. I copied my RFT project into the shared folder. The machine with the shared folder is located in Singapore labs. Both RQM central server & machine with shared folder are outside the firewall.
Not sure why I am unable to connect to the shared location from RQM. However, I can access the shared folder from my laptop.
RQM says - "The shared location is not accessible/known. Pls contact your QM Admin."
Any help in resolving this problem will be very much appreciated.
Thanks !

Hi,
Try remoting into the RQM server machine (Remote Desktop, VNC, etc). You need to make sure that you can get to the share FROM the RQM server WITHOUT manually entering credentials (i.e. the share either needs to allow anonymous access, or it must allow access to the domain account that the RQM server process runs as).
I'm guessing that although you can get to the share from the client (your laptop), the server in Raleigh is not able to get to it.
Also make sure you are using fully-qualified names when possible. Example, if you are using "rqmProd" maybe you need to change to using something like "rqmProd.ratl.swg.usma.ibm.com".
