Problem with Installing RTC3.0

Hello,

I tried to setup a new RTC installation with the latest version 3.0 RC2.
After download the JTS and eclipse-client from https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/milestones/3.0RC2?p=allDownloads
I got a conflict between client and server:
Client RTC
Version: 3.0
Build id: RTC-I20101022-1001

Server
Jazz Foundation - Core Libraries
3.0 RC2 (RJF-I20101022-0242)

So what client and server (3.0) are compatible?
And how should I install RTC3.0 on the JTS?

I haven't found any articles and manuals about setting up a 3.0-installation.

Can anyone tell me, which files for installation should I use,
that I'm able to run RTC3.0?

Hi,

for now you are safe if you install client and server of the same build.

Hi,

for now you are safe if you install client and server of the same build.
And I'd like to suggest to use the latest from the download pages.

I downloaded and installed the client and server from Milestone RC2.
But they aren't compatible (see above - first post)
Where can I get client and server from the same build or how can I see, that they are from the same build before downloading?

I tried with: JTS-CCM-With-Trial-Licenses-repo-3.0RC2.zip,
RTC-Client-p2Repo-3.0RC2.zip

ErrorMsg:

The server you are connecting is older than your client and not compatible. Please contact your systemadministrator... Current Client Version: 3.0

Hi,

I'd suggest to use the web install. That should point to the same repository. I try to get the files fixed.

Thank you,
now I installed the server via the WebIM again.
It seems to be the same version like before.
And I'm also unable to register the applications at https://servername:9443/jts/setup#/steps/6 (ID CRJAZ1726E)
and don't know what to change.

Is there a manual to install RTC3.0 step by step?
Or does only users exist, who migrate from V2 to V3 ?

Hi,

I use https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RTCtoCCM30MigrationSteps for migration.

The install description is as always on the download pages of the release: https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/milestones/3.0RC2.

If you do a fresh install without migration option it should just be easy to install. I would try that first. After it works you could try with an enterpridse DB. You need at least 2 databases, one for the JTS server and one for the RTC (CCM) application.

Please read the documentation and follow the links on the page above.

I suggested to use the web install especially for the RTC client and to make sure you install the same repository.

After watching the JTS-Setup-Video I realized, that I have only have setup the JazzTeamServer, without any application.

Is it right, that I should to download the RTC-Application, so I'd be able to register the app in the jts-Setup?
But where can I download it?

I'm very confused about setting up this Server (with or without RTC?),
in my opinion, the install description on the download page isnt very usefully.

PS: I only want to setup a JTS to work with RTC3.0 like I've done before with RTC2.0.0.2 without migrate any data.

Hi,

again, please follow the description on the download page.

If you install the JazzTeamServer the CCM application from the web install it comes with the JTS, the CCM application component and the licenses. You just install all and follow the instructions. In the last steps you have the choice to select "migration" which you don't select if you want to start fresh with RTC3.

Please note, if you do that you will not be able migrate your old server over.
