Calendar view that includes absence summaries

A calendar view that includes team members' absence summaries would be very useful. I have seen that this is not a new request - several work items exist for the same requirement - work items 133949, 86637, 58766 - approaching it from different angles however planned implementation isn't indicated (Backlog doesn't tell me when I'll get it...)
One of them even indicates a change set was delivered!?!
I'm aware of the workaround (WI 95801) however a calendar view is preferred.
When can we expect to see this implemented.

Can't you edit the already existing calendar?

Not sure what you mean by existing calendar - I'm looking for an overview of team members' absences in one view; the workaround in WI 95801 has limitations - absences that are scheduled past 10 weeks from the current date don't show up.
