Is it possible to restrict who can modify certain fields in a work item?

For example, would like to restrict who can modify the "planned for" field.

If so is there an snippet of process code that can be used as an example?

More recent versions of RTC ( 3 and later ) expanded Work Item Save permissions to disable modifying field(s) of work items.   Expand the Save Work Item section of a project's Permission section ( under Team Configuration in the RTC client )
