How to create a table data type for an artifact attribute

If you have an artifact attribute and you want to have a table as the data type, I know you can create a custom data type, but is there another way? Is the only way to make the table as a custom type?

Could you expand on what you are trying to accomplish? Perhaps give an example?

I have the same question.

I have data from external database that I want to add into an workitem. I want to create a custom table in a custom workitem tab and load this data there. This custom table should have the same columns that I have in external database and it'll be read only.

Is it possible? I didn't find any custom table atribute on workitem configuration
