I would like to see work items from other repositories in my dashboard. Some viewlets have a scope tab, but the work item one does not.

Sorry for the late reply. Do you mean other project areas on the same repository or on an entirely different repository (server)? We intend to make the former work in the next release, but I'm not sure if the latter will be supported any time soon. Can you describe what you're trying to do?

We have users that need access to a developer RTC repository and a UA (user assistance) RTC respository and we would like to have viewlets from each repository on the same dashboard.

Cross-repository dashboards are not yet supported but are planned for 2.0:
