Missing Security mapping link in Jazz_war application

Shailesh Gandhi (5166) | asked Mar 06 '08, 10:14 a.m.
Hi,
I have Jazz Server version 0.6.0.I20080110-1623 installed and RTC client from the same build. I also installed WAS 6.1, applied the fixpack for IBM Java SDK 1.5 SR5 and enabled administrative security in WAS. I installed Jazz_war as Enterprise App. Upon expanding the link for Jazz_was, I found out that there is a missing link for "Security role to user/group mapping". Any idea? why is it not there? Is it added in the recent build? I believe it is part of WAS.

Thanks,
Shailesh

Have you enabled "application" security in WAS? If I recall that is a
sub-setting when administrative security is enabled.

The "application" security was already enabled when I tried to enable "administrative" security and it is still enabled.

Is it possible WAS needs to be restarted? Or have you already tried that
too?

Maybe it has something to do with the type of Realm you have configured?
Which Realm are you using?

When install make sure you select the "Show me all installation options
and parameters." on the first install page (at the bottom) otherwise you
will not be prompted to associate security roles

Hi,
Since WAS 6.1 was installed earlier, we don't remeber whether "Show me all installation options
and parameters." selection was made or not on the first install page.
Also, I am just doing simple Linux OS based security. I don't know whether that is the correct way to do it or not. I added users in Linux OS based "Users and Groups" with appropriate groups. I have feeling that I am doing something basic incorrect. If you like, I would like to solve this issue off the forum.

I meant when installing the jazz war not WAS itself. Uninstall the
jazz.war and reinstall making sure you select "Show me all installation
options and parameters.".

Richard,
That clarification is helpful. I just reinstalled jazz_war and while I was doing that I noticed one thing. The above referenced link was visible only when jazz_war is stopped. Once you start the app, that link is gone and I don't see it anymore. While reinstalling, I just selected the option on the first page as you have mentioned above, and then I selected the defaults on the subsequent pages. Is it normal? or Did I do something incorrect? Please let me know, if I need to modify anything.

Thanks,
Shailesh

You should get to a page that lists 9 steps. When you get to "Step 8:
Map security roles to users or groups" map the roles in the war to the
ones that you have setup in the "Users and Groups" section in the WAS admin.
