Creating independent Components in Source Control

Is there any way to create Components outside workspace or streams? Under Source Control->Components,If I right Click Components, there is no option of creating a component. Is there any way to create a component without using Stream or Workspace?

You can create a new component in a workspace and then remove it. I'm not sure why you would want to do this because the component will be empty and you have to add it to a workspace in order to put anything in the component.

The only way I know to create a component via the GUI is in the context
of a Stream or a Workspace.

Is there some reason why doing this is a problem, or were you just
wondering for interest's sake? (I every so often try to do it by right
clicking that Components node, before I remember I can't do it, so I
appreciate your wondering why you can't :-).

Cheers,
Geoff

True. I was wondering why can't we do it by right clicking the components option and then deciding to flow it with the stream. Thats fine. Probably we cannot do it.

I agree this would be a useful enhancement. I've submitted work item
115121, requesting this functionality. Please feel free to add a
comment, to indicate your interest/support.

Geoff
