Semantic of open WI

Peter Kirschner (8152) | asked Feb 18 '08, 3:17 a.m.
Inside RTC is quick search for WIs on bottom left. The predefined setting is "All Open Work Items". Additional value is "Open Work Items".

So what is the exactly meaning of "open" for e.g. RFS WI and Workflow? What is open for other custom defined WI types.

Possible generic semantics ...

- initial state of a workflow
- not end state of a workflow (could be more than one and worflow needs to be evaluated)

What is intended semantic?

Hi Peter,

Workflows have states which can be tagged with a state group, i.e.
"open", "inprogress", "closed". The semantics of state groups are
workflow-independent and are used in different places in the Jazz UI,
i.e. start/stop work actions, queries, rendering of work items etc.

The state groups have nothing to do with the initial state of a work
flow, but simply provide a way to convey workflow-independent semantics
to Jazz, as outlined above.

HTH,
Tobias
