Project Templates in RQM 2.0.1

Hi,

One of new features of RQM 2.0.1 is this:

Project Templates

Project settings from one project can be used for creating new projects. This project template will contain all project information set up under the admin user including categories, categories values, test plan and test case templates, tool integration set up, test environment information, users, workflow customizations and any other predetermined information.

But, how can I do this?

I can't found it in the RQM documentation or any tech tips.

Thank you very much for any answer.

Hi John,

The documentation states that copying project template will copy all the properties that are set in Admin -> System Properties.

How will the project template contain the information set up under the admin user including test plan and test case templates when test plan and test case templates are not available in the Admin -> System Properties?

Please let me know if there is any other way to create project templates.

Thanks,
Sandip.

I believe the answer here is that it does not .. this copyproject tool is specifically for transfer of the system properties values, which includes test case and plan categories, but not the "templates" if you've customised those.

Hi,

I tested this and only copy the information under System Properties (except environmets types). If you want copy Test Plan/Case Template you should use CopyUtility or URLUtil.

I recommend CopyUtility.

Hi,

I have multiple sections in my test plan in RQM. I found that i can create new sections of type RichText or Grid. In the Grid type, all the columns allow me to enter only free text. Is there a way I can create a grid where some of the columns have a dropdown list box? I am thinking more like the Entry Criteria section. If we cannot, can I copy a section and reuse it?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Senthil
