Cannot Create New Iteration Plan

Jacob Thompson (8662) | asked Feb 14 '08, 10:27 a.m.
Not too sure if this has been covered.

Here is the problem...

I have two Project Workspaces.

First one, when I create a new Iteration plan, it comes up lets me enter name, ect. When I go to the "Planned Items" tab, it just sits on "Loading..." and will never leave. I watch the server logs and I am not seeing any errors. If I close it, it shows that it was never saved.

In another project, I do the same process and "Planned Items" comes up and lets me edit what I want.

Any thoughts on this behavior?

Any log entries on the client?

Ok, so first, no there were no log entries on the log

What the problem was....

It keeps selecting a Team Area that is archived. I didn't notice this, but as soon as I selected the right team area it works fine. Probably want to add a check in there to prevent this in the future.

Right, please file a defect against Agile Planning with exact steps to

reproduce.

I am getting the same error message (The team area for this plan has been archived) when I try to create a new plan and the first team area that was created in the project is archived. The plan does not show up in the active team area, but it is showing up in the archived team area.

Please suggest appropriate action even it includes creating a new project.

I found someone on my team that had the same issue last week. It turns out the team area is not associated with the project. However, one can not see the new team area in the project area without doing the following step:

1. Open up Team Area
2. Under Timeline, select the project time Line
3. Click Save button to save the Team Area changes

To create the project association:

1. Open up the Project Area
2. Select the "Work Item Categories" tab on the bottom of the project area
3. Select the appropriate Team Area which should now be visible
4. Select the Root Category
5. Press the Associate button

That should now allow plans to be created.
