Andreas,

you don't have the permission to save queries.

have alook at http://jazz.net/projects/rational-team-concert/features/process-aware for the basic ideas.

You can modify the permissions for the role you have as a team member for example in the eclipse UI. Open the Project or team using the context menu. Go to Process Configuration>Team Configuration>Permissions.

Select your role and on the right scroll down to Work Items. Make sure you are allowed to save work item queries.

Please also check http://jazz.net/library/article/398 especially http://jazz.net/library/article/291.

Hi Andreas,

Ralph gave you the right instructions on how to do this.

I see that you are using RTC v2.0. Could you let us know if this works for you? I am using RTC v2.0.0.2 and after following the instructions, I still get the "Permission Denied" error. So this functionality may be broken in v2.0.0.2. I have entered defect 111163 for this.

Thanks,

Hi Walter, Andreas,

I don't believe it is broken in 2.0.0.2 (Works for me). You have to consider where the permission change needs to be done. If you want to save a shared query I believe you might need to have the permission in the team you share with.

Hi Ralph,

It works for me as well - with other queries. I actually created a query similar to the one that I could not modify and we are using the new one. That has satisfied my need for the particular query and all is well as far as that is concerned.

I opened the defect to see if we can determine why I couldn't save the original query in the first place. Maybe the logs for the defect will provide some information to help make the RTC experience better. For example, there may have been an issue when the original query was created. The logs may provide some info as to what happened. If not, no worries, if I run into errors modifying queries, I know that I can create new ones to replace the old ones.

Thanks,

-Walter

Hallo Ralph,

I've the permissons to save work item queries. I think this is a problem with shared queries because if I create a duplicat of the shared query I can save it.

For me it looks like a bug in RTCp.
Can you please verify this for me.

Thanks
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

sorry for the delay.

I don't have RTC p. I just verified that with the right Team Configuration Permissions I can save shared queries in my deployment. Apparently required is the permission to modify>share/unshare query to save shared queries. If you have that permission and are able to share your own query with all teams and others the original query was shared with you should consider filing a work item.
