Open RRC requirements link in a browser for RRC-RPE integrtn

Hi All,

We want to integrate RRC with RPE. We are using Rational Requirements Composer Version: 2.0.0.1 and Rational Publishing Engine Document Studio Version 1.1.1.

After referring the RRC Tutorial on the link : "https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/wikis/display/rpe/RPE+-+RRC+Step+by+Step" and following the steps in the document, we were able to Add Data Source Schema of type Generic XML using URI "http://{server}:{port}/rdm/publish/requirements?metadata=schema" substituting actual server name and port no. RPE Studio successfully loaded the schema file in Data Source Schema View.

But then, we are unable to open the RRC requirements link in a browser which generate the xml file using the link
"http://{server}:{port}/rdm/publish/requirements/*"

Other links tried are:

We have here substituted our RRC server name and port number.

This step is giving error as "Response 500: Internal server Error null" and hence we are unable to fetch "Revisions URI" and "Comments URI" to creating data source schemas for them.

We also tried the following link for a specifc requirement: "https://{server}:{port}/rdm/publish/requirements?collectionURI=rrc<no>"

But the output was only "<ds>" and rest blank.

Please provide some solution. Expecting a reply from RRC team.

Thanks,
Sandip.

Sandip,

There are some tutorials and examples for Rational Publishing Engine on developerWorks here:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/wikis/display/rpe/Examples%20and%20Tutorials

And specifically for RRC here:
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/wikis/pages/viewpageattachments.action?pageId=121930122

I don't know if these will solve your specific problem. I'll ask around.

Daniel

Hi Sandip,

It sounds as if there may be an issue on the server side. To verify this, we would need to see the contents of the server logs for the reported error. Would you be able to provide these?

In the meantime, can you please verify that you are able to retrieve information for a specific requirement using either of the following two URIs?

https://server:port/rdm/publish/resources?resourceURI=rrc<no>
https://server:port/rdm/publish/requirements?resourceURI=rrc<no>

where <no> is the identifying number of the requirement.

In addition, can you tell me if you are able to generate the requirements specification report from the RRC rich client on one or more requirements in your project?

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Nick,

I have the same problem (or similar)

I cannot generate any requirements from the RRC rich client (using the OOTB template from the Requirements Folder in the Classic CD Project), it basically locks the entire machine up until I kill task.

I changed direction tried it through RPE.
In Document Studio:
When I went through the tutorial and adding a datasource, I used my Jazz Admin login and password (checked this by going into into the Jazz server). I enter this info and it keeps repeating the dialogue box to enter User ID and Password and I cannot get any further.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Can you please tell me which versions of RRC and RPE you are using for this test? Also, can you please tell me which options you have selected when attempting to run the requirements report?

Are you experiencing the same issues with any of the other report types or is it only the requirements report that is causing problems?

Cheers,

Nick

I am using RRC 2.0.0.0 and RPE 1.1.1

From the Requirements Folder in Classic CD, I then select, Make a Report from this View (icon on top right where all requirements are listed). I then select the Requirements Specification and then all Defaults from there (apart from a company logo which I add which I imported into the RRC repository)

I have just tried it for the Screen Flow report and got the same issue.

Thanks,

David
