Jay,

Milestones are added in the Test Schedules section of Test Plans, in the Key Dates table (I think IBM could have been consistent in their terms here and referred to Milestones rather than Key Dates to avoid confusion). Click on the ? in the Test Schedules section to get the following help:

Use this section to list the various test activities and milestones and to track your progress against the test plan. You can create multiple milestones, each with their own start and end date.
Schedules consist of a series of test activities. By creating test schedules early and then updating them throughout the project, you can determine your progress and report that progress to other members of the project team.

Click the Execution Trend Preview icon to graph the estimates of the work load in a milestone. Prior to running the report, add the planned start and end dates, and then add the estimated points attempted and completed for specific dates.

Also, in the online help, see Testing -> planning the test effort -> Creating test schedules.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the quick response.

Now i am able to add Test milestone but struggling to add a points.

I have clicked on points icon and then a pop up displayed when i click on + icon in the pop up it added me current date, then i have filled in points attempted 2 and points completed 1 and clicked on ok.

It does nothing and never gets closed. Could you please help me in adding points for this section. Thanks in Advance.

Cheers,
Jay.

On this topic, can anyone tell me if within a Test Plan is the only place you can add a test schedule?

Coming from CQTM, we had been leveraging the Iterations in the way it appears milestones work in RQM. The benefit here was that we had a single list of Iterations which could then be linked to 1 or more test plans/cases. You didn't have to keep re-keying them in, which when we're dealing with dozens of plans and hundreds of cases (which is how our projects are structured), creates the risk of data-entry mistakes.

If we have to enter milestones/key dates for every test plan, how does this affect the reporting built into RQM? Can we see all of the test plans for a "specific" milestone?
