Customizing Reports in RQM
Hi,
How do i customize Reports in RQM: 1) Should i have BIRT tool installed, If so what is the process for installing it. 2) Apart from BIRT tool are there any other ways of customizing reports. 3) I am interested in generating more reports like, Plan -> Requirements -> Testcase -> Defect 4) What does TER Stand for ? 5) I have downloaded RQM Setup from jazz website, I have successfully installed RQM. In the Installation manager, there is one more option which states IBM Rational Quality Manager Custom Reporting, when i try to install under common configurations it asks me to select New Installation of Websphere Application Server or Existing or manual then based on my selection it prompts me to select the Database. I want to see how the customization of reports can be done. So i want to install it but i am not able to proceed from here. So what is my question for you here is, what are the all the things i need to have a prerequisite eg: DB2 or Oracle etc. Please also list me how to install this. 6) Can i edit the existing Reports and modify the templates. Regards, Jay. |

Hi, 1. There has been no information in the RQM installation process that I've seen thus far that suggests we should install BIRT - however, as a number of rational tools support BIRT - you could download and install the BIRT designer - it should be a self extracting file, no installation at all just extracts to the directory structure for loading 2. I'm sure there are - from the process template etc, but I haven't experimented there 3. Ditto .. have a number reports I think are missing that I want to add too 4. TER depends on where you are in the system . if you're in a Test Case, TER stands for Test Execution Record - if you're in Excution TER also stands for Test Execution Results 5. Custom Reporting is another Add On to RQM that provides Cognos reporting - if you don't already have websphere installed on your "server" or "local machine" it will install it and the you must also have a database product installed i.e. DB2 6. per 2. above yes I'm sure you could, but wouldn't advise it |
