Running JBE on z/OS returns errhr FSUM7729 - missing closing "`"

Tried to run JBE as build engine in zOS (EWM 7.1.0) and when it starts, the FSUM 7729 error occurs.
Any idea what could be wrong? 
I use an installation on zPDT, using ADCD 3.1 may edition
