Please advise on the best method how to combine and consolidate multiple QM streams to single stream.

In the DOORs NG ETM project area, I am managing five Quality Management (QM) streams QM1, QM2, QM3, QM4, and QM5, which all belong to the same project area. I aim to consolidate these five QM streams into one final QM stream that will incorporate the consolidated content from all five streams. <o:p> </o:p>

<o:p>   </o:p>

The flow of content from each QM stream is as follows <o:p> </o:p>

<o:p>   </o:p>

QM1 Stream (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Scripts) <o:p> </o:p>

QM2 Stream (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Scripts) <o:p> </o:p>

QM3 Stream (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Scripts) <o:p> </o:p>

QM4 Stream (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Scripts) <o:p> </o:p>

QM5 Stream (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Scripts) <o:p> </o:p>

<o:p>   </o:p>

To <o:p> </o:p>

<o:p>   </o:p>

QM Final Stream (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Scripts). <o:p> </o:p>

<o:p>   </o:p>

The objective is to create a QM Final Stream that will compile all of the above into a single coherent structure <o:p> </o:p>

QM Final Stream (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Scripts). <o:p> </o:p>

<o:p>   </o:p>

Once I successfully combine and consolidate the contents into the QM Final Stream, I intend to retain only this final stream i.e. QM Final Stream (Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Scripts), while deleting the existing QM streams (QM1, QM2, QM3, QM4, and QM5). <o:p> </o:p>

<o:p>   </o:p>

Please advise on the best method how to combine and consolidate multiple QM streams to single stream.

I would test the following:
  • Create a 6th stream as a 'consolidation' stream.
  • When you want to merge changes into stream 6, baseline in the other streams (1-5) and then in stream 6 merge in the changes from those other stream baselines (give the baselines useful names to identify the stream and merge date/time).

Alternative would have been to keep the 5 plans in 1 stream and use test suites or master test plans to manage the allocation to different teams/disciplines.
