Delete database tables directly to cleanup RTC repostory?

Just a wild thought.

We are using DB2 as the backend server for our RTC server and they are sitting on different boxes.

As one can't physically rmmove archived stuff from the RTC server, is it possible for one to locate the tables in the Database on the Db2 database server and delte them form there? What is the consequence to RTC server?

I don't suggest this approach, as our table structures are not self-contained, deleting one table will corrupt your database. You will be left with dangling references, orphan data, and probably a set of angry users <g>

Today there are a couple of artifacts that you can "hard-delete" from a RTC server, namely build results and work item attachments. In the future we will be allowing you to delete more artifacts to re-claim space. I suggest you wait for that support.

Jean-Michel
