Using RQM (for test result management) without Lab Manager?

Peter GardfjÀll (2186) | asked Dec 15 '09, 5:51 a.m.
Hi all,

is it possible to use RQM without the Lab Manager parts?

To be more specific, we have an existing lab resource management and execution system that we are planning to replace with RQM/Lab Manager. We are considering a step-by-step migration towards RQM and Lab Manager.

The first step would be to just store our test cases and test execution results in RQM and have lab resource management and test execution managed by our own system. This would mean that we execute our test cases by external means and report them to RQM via the REST API. Is this approach possible without storing the lab resources (that tests execute on) in the Lab Manager?

best regards, Peter

Hi Peter
Yes, you can create test cases, test execution results, and execution results without lab resources or test scripts.

Hope that helps.

Frank
