extending executionworkitems

I'd like to know if it's possible to extend an xml document associated to an executionworkitem adding new tags/elements. For testcases it's possible. But for executionworkitems i haven't succeeded. Someone knows if there is a way to do that?

Test Cases and Test Plans can be extended through categories. Starting in RQM 2.0.1 Test Suites will also support categories.
Unfortunately, Test Execution Records (executionworkitem in the API) does not support any sort of extension.
